The Capstone Year
The Montessori method is uniquely founded on a three-year cycle. The children benefit immensely by exposure to younger and older children. Children completing the third year, or "Capstone Year", fully realize the value of the method as they become able to abstractly actualize learning concepts. Furthermore, the integrity of the classroom is compromised without the presence of children who are ages five and six, who are role models for the younger students.
